Our campaign goal is to raise $10,000 by November 1st to respond to the needs we are seeing in our community. Please donate, share our campaign, and stay tuned for some fun events and more opportunities throughout October to support our fundraising efforts.
Why now: Our immigrant communities are under constant threat under the Trump administration and ICE. Police and ICE are causing violence through force and deportations into our communities, and our communities need us. We have to show up to be on the frontlines with our immigrant residents, and now is the time for solidarity to keep our families together and families safe in the light of fascism, cruelty, and white supremacy.
What your donation supports: Colectiva is grassroots group made up of allies, volunteers, and directly impacted people in the community. We have two full-time organizers who do everything from coordinating door-to-door canvassing, working directly with immigrant communities, leading our advocacy campaigns, running rapid response networks, and mobilizing for actions. Your support keeps us going!
More about who we are:
Started in 2017, La ColectiVA is a grassroots collaborative group organizing in Northern Virginia and the DMV area for migrant rights and social justice.
We believe in a world and a community with no prisons, no detention camps, and no borders. Our communities deserve real safety and to thrive with their families and loved ones in the place they call home. We’re fighting family separation and ICE violence through the organizing of immigrant communities and those who believe in justice by organizing our gente for collective change and community justice.
From celebrating our culture to political organizing, La ColectiVA works to bring folks together to build a better world.
What we do: We work to organize immigrant communities in Arlington, Virginia, and beyond to defend their rights and justice for themselves and their families. Our goal is to empower directly impacted communities and help them find the tools they need to defend their community and advocate for better living conditions: from housing to being free from the racist carceral system. Our experiences are linked; what happens in our neighborhoods determines our safety and opportunities. We work to provide community education, opportunities for immigrant community members to find their voice and build their leadership to advocate for their families and community. We work with allies and people who have a desire for justice and equity to make Virginia a better place for everyone and free from criminalization for BIPOC and immigrant folks.
